In this article, you will understand step by step how to easily integrate with Google Drive
Integrating Google Drive with Scytale allows you to seamlessly sync documents as evidence for audits. This feature ensures that any changes made to the documents in Google Drive are automatically update in Scytale, providing a dynamic and efficient way to manage document-based evidence.
Note: We strongly suggest creating a service account with a dedicated email specifically for the files you intend to sync.
This ensures that your personal files remain private and inaccessible.
You can only connect one Google Drive account at a time. Ensure that this account has permissions only for the files you want to sync and share with Scytale.
How to Connect Scytale and Google Drive
1) In Scytale, go to 'Integrations'.
3) Add a connection name and then select 'Next'.
4) Select 'Connect' to continue.
5) You will now be redirected to Google to choose the account you want to connect with.
We strongly suggest creating a service account with a dedicated email specifically for the files you intend to sync.
6) Select 'Allow' to connect.
7) You have now successfully connected to Google Drive!
How to Sync Evidence from Google Drive
1) In the Control Center, choose the monitoring that you wish to sync evidence from Google Drive. Click on 'Add Evidence'.
2) Select 'Sync With Google Drive'.
3) Next, enter the link to the Google Drive file or folder you wish to use as evidence.
To add multiple files or folders, click 'Add Another URL'.
Note: You can sync either individual files or an entire folder. Syncing a folder will include all files within it as evidence.
You can also sync files from Shared Drives.
4) After you have added the URL select 'Sync'.
5) Here you can see the status of the synchronization.
Note: If you update a file in Google Drive, the changes will automatically be applied to the synced evidence.
You can check the status of your connected URLs at any time by selecting 'Sync From Google Drive'.
Note: When you connect a file from Google Drive, it can take up to 24 hours for the sync to complete.
Once you have synced a file with the Monitoring the Source will appear as evidence.
