This integration allows you to automate critical tasks, monitor key IT assets, and ensure your organization remains audit-ready by tracking and managing compliance requirements directly from ServiceNow.
In this guide, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of setting up the ServiceNow integration with Scytale, enabling your team to enhance operational efficiency and maintain continuous compliance oversight.
Permissions
To integrate ServiceNow with Scytale, the following permissions are required:
- useraccount (automatically granted during connection.)
Step 1: How to create an OAuth application in ServiceNow
1) Go to ServiceNow and select 'All'.
Search for 'OAuth' and select 'Application Registry'.
2) In 'Application Registry', click on 'New'.
3) You will then be prompted to choose the kind of OAuth application you would like to create. Choose 'Create an OAuth API endpoint for external clients'.
4) Next, you will need to fill in Name which can be extracted from the instance URL, for example if the instance URL is https://dev.service-now.com/ the name will be dev.
Note: If you’re unsure of your instance URL, go to your ServiceNow account and check the browser tab bar for the correct link.
5) Next, make sure the 'Client ID' and 'Client Secret' fields are completed. They will be automatically generated by ServiceNow.
Note: Leave the 'Client Secret' field blank and ServiceNow will automatically generate one for you.
6) Lastly, copy and paste the following URL exactly into the 'Redirect URL' :
https://api.scytale.ai/integrations/servicenow/callback/servicenow/oauth_redirect.do
7) The remaining fields can be left as is. Next, select 'Submit' in the top right corner.
Step 2: How to Connect Scytale and ServiceNow
1) In Scytale, go to 'Integrations'.
2) Search for ServiceNow in the search bar and select 'Connect'.
3) Fill in the 'Instance Name'.
Note: Use the Name from ServiceNow.
4) Fill in the 'Client ID'.
Note: Use the Client ID from ServiceNow.
5) Fill in the 'Client Secret'.
Note: Use the Client Secret from ServiceNow.
6) Add a connection name - this will be used to differentiate between your connections - and then select 'Connect'.
7) Select 'Connect'.
